In the west, people will respect the name of the Lord; in the east, they will glorify him. For he will come like a raging flood tide driven by the breath of the Lord.[a] Footnotes:
59:19 Or When the enemy comes like a raging flood tide, / the Spirit of the Lord will drive him back.
I heard a teacher ask this question about this subject. ” You have to decide in your life who is more powerful” It has been a common statement in our culture today” words have power.” Some people with agenda’s use every tactic of the enemy to steal, kill and destroy their opponents’ faith, or culture or lifestyle to live a life of peace in this nation and as a follower of Christ. My allegiance is to the King of Kings, not a man, or a political party or a religious institution. The Apostle Peter said, “We must obey God rather than any human authority.” Jesus had told the disciples that persecution will come, and they were filled with the Holy Spirit from Pentecost, and now were letting the religious/political rulers know they will follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. They knew their words had power. Your life, your work, and your daily life have power in the Kingdom of God.
“Believe in the Lord your God and you shall be established; believe and remain steadfast to His prophets and you shall prosper.” 2 Chronicles 20:20 AMPC The answer is obvious. So who and what you focus on as an authority in your life, will use that attention to drive your experience of life.
